Flyer Flyer Justification:
For the flyer, I made up a furniture company named Fine Furniture. I used an italicized serif font to add some sophistication. This font is black against a white rectangle to have the reader immediately know the store name. The event was a grand opening, so I was sure to make that stand out at the top by making it white against the dark background. I also added a drop shadow to make it stand out. I clearly wrote the date of the grand opening underneath the name of the store in capital letters, as well as a white san-serif font to be visible to the reader. I wrote a small description of the company as italicized and bolded so it would be easy to read. At the bottom, I put Come See Us Today! in a white font (against the dark background) to make it more visible. For the background, I used a graphic that resembled wallpaper to make it appear homier yet at the same time fancy. I added a dark box above this so that the text would be easier to read against this busy background. I also added another brownish box above this one so that there would not be too much negative space. I also used three pictures of furniture that had the same colors in them and made them pop off of the page with a drop shadow. I used these pictures to show what the company had to offer.

CD Justification: CD Back Cover CD Front Cover
For my CD cover, I named the band Child’s Play and named the album Just Another Day. On the front of the CD cover, I made the words on the front cover pastel colors to be reminiscent of youth. I also used a drop shadow to help the words stand out. I used the same font continuously throughout the front of the cover to add unity. In the background, I used a black and white picture of a hopscotch game to play on the title of the band. On the back, I used the same colors for the album title as well as the same font. The background is a solid grey to match with the front, and on it is a picture of a jump rope (with the same color as the band name) to tie in with the hopscotch game on the front. For the names of the songs, I made them a different font than the album name to give the back some variety. I right-aligned these words so I could fit the picture of the jump rope. For the record company logo, I did a simple design that would be instantly recognizable with an arc that resembled a bridge (the record company is called Bridge Records). For the copyright information, I made it small but readable at the bottom so it did not detract from the overall design. I put the barcode at the bottom right corner because it was a convenient place for a barcode.

Postcard Advertisement Postcard Advertisement Justification:
For my postcard advertisement, I came up with a store named The Bow Boutique. On the postcard, I included the name of the store, the special (All Bows Buy 2 Get 1 Free), and the address. I made the name of the store italicized to make it appear more upscale. I made the font of the special glow to contrast it against the background, and used a san-serif font to make it stand out and easy to read. I made the word Free bold, capitalized, and pink to grab the attention of the audience. I made the address in the same font as the store name, only not bold to give the advertisement some unity. For the graphics, I put a black and white picture of some bows in the background and applied the gradient. I did this so they would detract from the design by being too distracting. I applied a gradient over the bow background, and put a big pink bow to symbolize what the store is selling. I also included a picture of a girl with a bow in her hair to attract the target audience of the advertisement.
